After being closed for more than a year following a fire in the building, the church in Montreal, Canada has been repaired and is open once more.  Sister Johanna and Brother Renzo have answered the call of God, to come to this city and begin to work for the Lord.

To commemorate this opening, a small conference was held over the weekend of November 18–20, 2011. Many believers from Ontario travelled to take part in this joyous occasion. Brother Giner, from the General Conference, came to lead out in the services.

Sabbath was the highlight of the conference with special music, testimonies and a powerful service, inspired by the Holy Spirit, conducted by Brother Giner.

“For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21. Many do not know how to live. They think they know better on how to live than what Christ is teaching. They think that the good life is a life of worldly pleasure and ease with no restraints on their activities, but this brings only sadness. The ways of the world produce evil and crime of every kind. People end up destroying their own lives and the lives of others. The only way to peace and happiness is found in Christ. There is a restraint on evil. Christ will give us stability, contentment and equilibrium. That does not mean that life will always be smooth. The Apostle Paul said he knew how to live. He went on to say about his life, “I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.” Philippians 4:12. Paul went through many difficult experiences. He was stoned, shipwrecked, beaten and so on. Yet he was happy and content because he had made Jesus the centre of his life. He knew how to live. The secret of Paul’s life of contentment was, “I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me.”  Philippians 4:13. If you decide to follow Christ, tests will come, but Jesus has promised to be with you through every difficulty. To truly live is Christ indeed.

Let us pray for the work in Montreal, for Sister Johanna and Brother Renzo, that the Lord will bless their work and that they will be of good courage. “The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He would send forth labourers into His harvest.” Luke 10:2
